#127: My Favorite Product for Healthy Lashes
All of the fashion magazines and blogs have been obsessed with lashes in the past few years. It seems like everyone wants longer, stronger, and more gorgeous looking lashes. If you've followed me for a while, then you know that I don't recommend gluing lashes to your eyes. I don't recommend using false lashes that you glue on either to the base of your lid or to the individual lash themselves because most of the glues are irritating to dry eyes.
But, never fear ladies, there are products you can use to achieve those gorgeous looking lashes. And, the products can be beneficial to your eyes as well. I'd like to introduce you to a product from Twenty/Twenty Beauty. It is a lash and brow serum that moisturizes the hair follicle, and I absolutely love it. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I feel like my lashes are stronger.

What is this Magical Potion?
Let's talk about this. It's called, Get Growing Lash & Brow Serum. It comes in a pump bottle and is super simple to use. First, make sure that your lids and lashes are clean. Remove your eye makeup, and use a lid and lash cleanser to remove all of the makeup and bacteria from your lids and lashes. Twenty/Twenty Beauty has a great hypochlorous acid spray to ensure your lashes are squeaky clean. You can learn the benefits of using a hypochlorous acid spray here in blog #125.
For best results, I recommend using this lid and lash serum at bedtime because that way it's going to stay where right at the lid margin. It needs to stay at the base of the eyelashes because this is where the lash growth happens. Run a thin line of the Get Growing Serum along the base of the lashes right before bed, and it's not going to run into your eyes. Yay! Double win.
What's this stuff made of?
This particular lid and lash serum is wonderful because it only has three ingredients and they're all organic. These ingredients have been doubled checked to be CLEAN. That means this product is free of toxins.
There are only three ingredients:
- Castor oil: This is the ingredient that's helping to strengthen and lengthen your lashes. It contains ricinoleic acid, which is thought to increase blood flow to the hair follice, and Vitamin E, which fights harmful oxidation.
- Coconut oil: is absorbed quickly by the hair follicle to moisturize the hair. It also has natural antimicrobial effects and can disrupt bacteria, fungus and viruses.
- Argan Oil: contains phenols that support and strengthen the hair follicle.
Before using Get Growing Lash & Brow Serum make sure you're not allergic to castor oil. You can check by painting a small amount to the backside of your wrist a day or two before you apply it to your eyes.
How to use
Ensure your lids and lashes are clean. Then, pump out some of the product onto the back of your hand. Use one of the brushes that comes in the package. Dab the brush into the oil. Paint a fine line of oil right at the base of your lashes. Do this right before bedtime.
If you have any extra oil leftover, you can apply it to your brows. Once you're done, dispose of the brush. The pack comes with 30 of these brushes. When you run out, you can use a Q-tip to apply it right at the lash line. You don't want this oil to get into your eyes. Always use a clean brush.
