#179: The Best Makeup Looks for Dry Eye Relief
The makeup that you put around our eyes matters. You can look great and take care of your eyes so that at the end of the night, your makeup is not streaming down your face. No one wants to have red and irritated eyes during the party and especially not the next day either.
I've got 4 great products to make your holiday makeup look great. And, it will be healthy for your eyes as well. All you need is: eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, and eye brow gel. You'll be ready to step out to any holiday affair.
#1) Eye Shadow
There are a couple of things to avoid when using eye shadow.
Do not use GLITTERY eyeshadow. The glitter can fall into your eyes and create microscopic scratches on your eye. Your eyes will be red and irritated from it. If you need the glitter to make you FEEL GLAM, use it in your dress, shoes, and accessories!
Avoid the having eye shadow flake off and fall into your eyes entirely. Use an an eyeshadow pencil instead. These will stick to your lids better and not flake into the eyes when you blink.

#2) Eyeliner
The most important thing to know about eyeliner is never tight-line or waterline. The inner rim of the eyelids is an important area of the eye that produces oils. These oils coat your tears and keep your eyes moist and feeling comfortable.
Applying makeup to your waterline will clog your oil glands, cause styes, and allow makeup particles to float around in your eye. Talk about a recipe for disaster.

Do not use waterproof mascara. A lot of my patients with dry eyes switch to waterproof mascara so that it doesn't run down their cheeks when their eyes water. These ingredients dry out the lashes and clog up the hair follicles and oil glands around them. When your lashes are dry, they become brittle and break easily. No one wants short lashes.
