#199: Your Holiday Shopping Guide, aka your Personal Wish List

The 2023 gift guide for the holidays so that you can get all of your friends with red, sensitive eyes, the best gifts to pamper them this holiday season.  

#1) Eyes are the Story Mascara

Now, this is a box of three mini mascara wands. I really love this mascara. It is my favorite. The three mini wands keeps the brush and tube clean. You replace these wands every month. Less bacteria stays in the mascara tube to grow since you dispose of it so often.

Instead of using the big tubes of mascara which you throw out every three months, you get three smaller tubes that you'll replace once a month.

The mascara is formulated with a creamy texture, and it doesn't flake. I find that this mascara lasts all day and it's a nice dark black color. I love it.

This is an eyeshadow stick. It's a beautiful bronze and olive color, fresh for the holidays. I love their eyeshadow sticks because the color stays on all day. I always want my patients to choose a cream or crayon shadow over a powder. The powder shadows can easily reach our tear film and irritate your eyes all day. The twenty/twenty brand never uses any loose glitter in their formulations that might irritate your eyes. And, these eye shadow stick don't contain any toxic ingredients. #3) Lumify Eye Illuminations 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water and Eye Makeup Remover

This makeup remover is a newcomer to my list this year because it is a brand new product. And I've completely fallen in love with it.  Lumify Cleansing Micellular Water and Eye Makeup Remover is a product from Bausch Lomb. It just launched this fall and you can find it at your local drug store.

It comes in a nice large bottle. Add the solution to a cotton ball, then you can gently remove your eye makeup without any harsh rubbing and scrubbing.  The micelles in the water surround the makeup molecules and soak them up like a sponge. Then, I do recommend that you do rinse this off, get all of the remnants of the eye makeup remover from your lids.

This product is safe for patients who have dry skin, oily skin, or wear contact lenses. It's perfect for the the most sensitive of my patients. Plus, it has been tested by leading dry eye specialists to have CLEAN ingredients that are safe for dry eye sufferers. Check it out for yourself.  

#4) CLEAN Makeup Manual 

This is my all time favorite. The Clean Makeup Manual. This product is another newcomer to my list this year. It's a brand new product from Bruder Healthcare. This is an individually wrapped warm compress eye mask. It's called Eyedration. I absolutely love this to take on the go because it comes in an individual packet.

This product is easy to use. And, there is no microwave need. Remove the mask from the packet. It's air activated and starts to heat up right away. Within minutes, it gets up to 109 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, lay the mask over your eyes and it stays warm for 20 to 30 minutes. You have plenty of time to heat up those meibomian glands, loosen the oils that may be trapped within them, and allow the oils to flow out onto the lids to soothe the front surface of your eyes.

I love this product because I hate being without my daily eye care products. As you know, heating your lids is part of my 4-simple steps of daily eye care. If you're unsure of this method, check out this blog.

These individually wrapped heated eye masks make it easy to never have to be without your daily care products. This mask is disposable and recyclable. Once you open it and air activate it, you can place the paper parts in the recycle bin. They come in a box of 16.

The ingredients include hyaluronic acid, which helps to bind moisture onto the front surface of your eye. It also contains Trehalose. Trehalose is found naturally in plants to keep them from drying out in the desert climates. These two super special ingredients in this new eye drop to help protect your eyes from drying while providing soothing moisture.
